Den Helige Ande styrs inte genom våra doktriner. Det är så lätt för oss att sätta Anden på plats genom något vi nyss läst eller förstått som läromässig auktoritet. Jag minns ungdomsdagarna på universitetet !

Men Anden beskrivs varken av någon litteratur eller katekes eller är bunden av någon föreläsning eller bulla. Vinden blåser varhelst den vill. Vi kan inte förutse det eller följa den.

Det enda sättet vi kan leva i Anden är att leva i Guds vind, som rör Sig i total frihet och bunden av ingenting. Om du är bunden av förutfattade åsikter kan vinden inte blåsa dig dit du bör fara !

Nu får vi ett val: vi kan antingen inse genom Anden att du är i förening med vinden, så att du går dit Anden blåser. Eller blir du observatörer av vinden så att du tycks kunna döma och analysera på avstånd. Sedan skriver du kanske manualer åt andra, skapar läror och låtsas att detta faktiskt är sant.

Men det är en enkel och uppenbar sanning att varken jag eller någon annan kan undervisa eller peka ut sanningen i Andens liv om det inte är min verklighet.

Jag kan upprepa saker jag läser i böcker eller hör i predikningar. Men jag kan inte ge dem till andra med sann andlig övertygelse om jag inte har någon levande erfarenhet av dem. Jag kan inte tala « med auktoritet », utan bara med stammande förbehåll ungefär som de skriftlärda och fariséerna. Även om jag kanske har lärt mig Andens vägar genom mänskliga gurus kommer det fortfarande att vara deras evangelium som jag delar tills det blir mitt.

De flesta människor lever i världen, som William Law skrev och jag citerade i ett tidigare inlägg, som i en partikulär fåfäng dröm. Deras liv blir korta och tämligen meningslösa. De upptäcker inte att evigheten skänks åt dem genom tron på Yeshua.

Allegorin om Adam och Eva undervisar oss på ett utmärkt sätt om det andliga livet. Många i den sekulära världen erkänner väl knappast någon kvalitativ skillnad mellan dem och oss. De var väl folk precis som vi är folk, men uppenbarlligen födda i en speciell Trädgård Gud hade skapat, där alla deras behov tillfredsställdes och de kunde roa sig hela dagen om de ville. Det verkar som de vistades på världens första och bästa semesteranläggning och var på en perfekt semester !

På sätt och vis är detta riktigt. Det handlar förstås inte om begär efter turistens lyx och bekvämlighet, men det handlar om föreningen med Gud. Den föreningen är verkliga semestern från världen och splittringen inom oss och mellan oss. En som är förenad med Gud har ledigt och kan göra ingenting och samtidigt lysa upp världen. Och varifrån får vi en sådan förening? Från Yeshua, från Jesus Kristus, vår Frälsare. Vi tror ju att Jesus kom mycket senare till jorden än Adam och Evas tid. Men det handlar inte om tid. Föreningen är egentligen primär, före all tid. Och Adam kommer senare än föreningen med Yeshua, inte tidigare.

James Relly skriver:

« In brief, if Jesus meant to teach us the Union, subsisting between himself and his Church under the similitude of the Vine and its branches, as a figure; can with much more propriety be said of Christ, and the people united as the thing signified.

The date of that Union which the branches has to the stem, is qeual to their existence: Yea, as considered in the stock, the Union which made them one therewith, was before they any apparent existence. And, though the Vine-stock in itself may have the most fruitful qualities; yet it cannot exhibit the same, by bringing forth the fruit to perfection, except it first put forth its proper branches: Therefore the existence of the branches, yea the Union thereof to the stem and their life therein, is before, yea, necessarily antecedent to all their fruitful productions.

So also is Christ: our Union to him bearing a superior age to our apparent personal existence. Therefore, said to be chosen in Him and to have grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the World began.

And though Jesus as the root and stem, was possessed of qualitities infinitely fruitful; yet there was neither possibility nor occasion of his exhibiting this by bringing forth his fruit; excdept his people or proper branches are first put forth in Adam to a personal existence; and sin entering His bring forth fruit was possible, and an opportunity administered him of signalizing himself in so doing: for, as the Union of the branch to the stem, is not lessened by sprouting into an apparent existence, but is as full as when they were hidden in the stock.

Neither was the Church, or members of Christ, less united to Him, when put forth in Adam, than what they were when only existing in Him; being still his true and proper branches. But, smitten with mildew, and blasting, in Adam’s offence, their life, sap and fruitfulness was repelled and driven back to the root; until the great Husbandman in infinite wisdom, so manured and dressed the root, that forcing the life and sap upwards, the branches were passive unto its influence, until all its fruit appeared. »

Hur kunde då vi förenas som grenar på vinträdet, trots infektionen från Adam som valde det falska jaget ? Relly fortsätter:

« In order to their fruitfulness, the branches were purged in the vine: there the superfluities of the whole were cut off, and all necessary for their perpetual fruitfulness accomplished. In like manner the Church, included in Christ, were purged in Him, in order to their fruitfulness. In putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circimcision of Christ (Col. ii.11) when he had by himself purged our sins, being nowjustified by this blood and sanctified through the offering up of the body of Jesus Christ once for all, wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. The vine thus purged, brings forth its fruit upon the native branches; having no other medium of bringing it forth. »

Genom Kristus manifesterar sig alltså Fadern som oss levande människor när vi tror, säger Hans Namn och låter det adamitiska jaget dö på korset med Herren, så att Kristus kan bli levande i oss och som oss.
